What I'm Reading: Skin Folk by Nalo Hopkinson

Synopsis: “In Skin Folk, with works ranging from science fiction to Caribbean folklore, passionate love to chilling horror, Nalo Hopkinson is at her award-winning best…”

My take: I am already a Hopkinson fan after reading Brown Girl in the Ring a decade ago. Skin Folk is a treat of voice, action, emotion, dread, characters, and images I can't shake. Favorites: “Something to Hitch Meat To,” “Snake,” “The Glass Bottle Trick,” “Tan-Tan and Dry Bone,” “Greedy Choke Puppy,” and “Precious.” Every story is a master class in speculative fiction and the short story form.
