Event: “The Art of the Query” Workshop

On Saturday, September 7th at 11 am, I am offering “The Art of the Query,” an interactive workshop in which we’ll work on your submission packets. Writers should bring writing tools (a laptop or notepad/pen), have a story or manuscript in mind, and if applicable, have an early draft of a cover letter. While geared toward fiction writers, this information is useful to creative non-fiction writers as well!

DETAILS:  An important component of a sustained writing practice is sending work into the world for publication. In this session, writers will discover a) the necessary parts for creating a successful query and submission packet and b) where and how to submit. After this session, students will understand submission guidelines from literary agents and indie publishers, adhere to proper manuscript format by William Shunn, learn the four parts of the query or submission cover letter, consider the best places to submit work, and know how to track submissions.

Register here. Seating is limited.
