Eligibility

I’m delighted that two of my works are eligible for awards this year.

First up is Unshod, Cackling, and Naked, which is eligible in the Fiction Collection category. This book has received strong reviews and has created conversations about violence, feminist horror, and transgressive fiction.

The first story in the collection, “The Turn,” is eligible in the Short Story category. This first-person narrative questions people’s assumptions about dominion over animals, ponders what happens when the family pet decides it no longer wants to have “owners,” and imagines a speculative dystopia in which humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.
